Music choices and explanations
Trey songz- Smart phone-We felt this would be an appropriate music choice for our documentary as it relates to topic area of mobile phones. The lyrics also explain some of the problems that can arise from using a mobile phone in the wrong way. Which fits with one of the purposes of our documentary to inform the audience of some of the dangers of using mobile phones incorrectly. From research into our target audience. this genre of music would appeal to them. so therefore by using this as backing music in our documentary it is drawing them to watch it as they may feel the content will appeal to them as they are exposed to the topic in their everyday lives.
However the song is very slow pace and may not fit well with the footage. So we will have to review our footage first to see where it may be appropriate.
Beyonce- Video phone- Beyonce is a well known influencial artist who the majority of our target audience would of heard of, this makes her a good artist to include as they will recognise the music. The title of the song also relates to our topic making it a good audio to feature over background footage. Unlike smart phone this song is more upbeat so can be used for our faster paced background footage.
Electric Light Orchestra- Telephone Lines-Although this particular song may not be one our target audience has listened to. We felt the start of the song was unique as it featured sounds associated with mobile phones. This could be used for the opening footage of our documentary as we are introducing the purpose of our documentary. this will further show the purpose of the documentary.
Neon trees- Text me in the morning
From listening to this we feel the first 30 seconds would be perfect to play over the opening footage of the different mobile phones. The lyrics also relate to our topic area which makes it an appropriate song choice as it states the problems associated with mobile phones and anti-social. All problems the target audience may come across.

Logging sheets
Logging Sheets
For the logging sheets we had to note down every single clip we had filmed in the time frame section. Next we had to decide whether we would be using the clip or not, just a brief decision, also right a brief description of what is going on in the clip so it is easy for us to locate.
The shot, Scene and Take were added in relation to our storyboard, and weather our shot was included in our storyboard or weather it was improvised.
Having to do this was time consuming and hard work but it had to be done so that we could move onto the next task. We started the logging in lesson and then completed it in our own time as it had to be done to a deadline which we would most likely not have met if we didn't spend our free time doing it. This is a good example of time management and planning ahead. When realising we could not get it done in class time we had to make plans to get it complete for next lesson, which meant working independently.
To get this complete we had to work together, therefore one of us would write down the time, scene, shot, take and the other would read it off of the computer files. By doing this we completed it to a good detailed level and in a short amount of time compared to maybe other groups in our class.

Preparation for filming
here is the take out sheet for out cameras that we have had to fill out. It is important to get this filled out quickly and accurately to ensure we use our time valuably and the equipment is accounted for.

Expert interview planning
For my expert I chose to contact a member of my family who is is a manager at apple, this will allow us to gather opinions from a multinational corporation that has dominated the mobile phone market. It also allows us to represent the experts of the feild in the documentary.
People who didn't respond/didn't participate
At certain points during filming we were let down by vox-pops. Although this was an inconvenience e were able to overcome it by seeking other people to do interviews. We made sure each interview was arranged early so that if people did drop out we could still use our time effectively.

Progress diary
By mind mapping different ideas of topics it has allowed us as a group to identify which ideas have the most potential and relevance to our target audience. We feel the activity of weighing out the advantages and disadvantages has lead to us picking our current topic of 'mobile devices: luxury or necessity?' We felt by picking this topic we were able to use a range of vox-pops available at college. Overall as a group we are equally as enthusiastic about the topic idea and feel we have come to the right decision. Also we have chosen this to be our topic question as us as students feel that we can relate to others opinions on mobile phones and we will gather a range of accurate results with any research we do throughout the project as we are within an environment which represents our topic specifically.

post 1-welcome
We have been put into a group of three, were will be working together for the next A2 year in order to make the first 5 minutes of a documentary, based on a subject of our choice. We hope to work well as a group and hope that all our individual skills come together and we can all learn new things from one another.
